Keeping on Top of Drivers
Success Story: Wheels, Inc.
Company Overview:
Wheels, Inc., which pioneered the concept of auto leasing in 1939, provides a full range of specialized services to help corporations manage their vehicle fleets. Wheels has 550 employees, leases more than 195,000 vehicles and manages more than 240,000 vehicles. Its holding company, Frank Consolidated Enterprises, currently ranks as one of the largest private companies in the United States, with more than $1.5 billion in annual sales.
Before EchoMail
Wheels used a combination of print mail and homegrown information systems to communicate with their drivers and employees. They send surveys that cost them more than a dollar per piece and the turn around time was more than two weeks.
Wheels has been looking to improve their driver communications to get better policy compliance by drivers and improve overall fleet operations.
Having a written fleet policy and procedures manual does not mean that drivers are following it. Policy compliance not only controls expenditures, but also protects the company from potential liability exposure. One of the key challenges as a fleet manager is to promote driver compliance with the fleet policy.
The EchoMail Deployment
The EchoMail®/DM solution was deployed to help fleet managers create customized newsletters with preformatted templates to communicate policy changes, maintenance and safety tips to the drivers. The nicely designed templates were created to help fleet managers write newsletters and surveys within a short time with little help from IT and Creative teams.
After EchoMail
With EchoMail®/DM, fleet managers are able to build relationships with drivers based on Care, Compliance, and Communication.
Now, Wheels is able to offer a complete set of tools to guide their clients to develop and maintain successful relationships with drivers. The secret to increasing driver compliance with fleet policy is just that friendly newsletter that is not viewed as an order from the fleet office.
