CAMBRIDGE, MA - August 6, 1998 - General Interactive, Inc.("GII"), the leading provider of intelligent messaging solutions for relationship marketing, recently held a launch party to celebrate the acquisition of Millennium Cybernetics, Inc. the intelligent messaging company, and took their EchoMail story on the road. Industry analysts and reporters were given a live demonstration of EchoMail and discussed how e-mail automation is revolutionizing the way companies conduct e-business.

GII invited guests from leading companies throughout the United States as well as local and national media to GII headquarters to hear the exclusive EchoMail story. Leading experts discussed how companies were conducting e-business and generating revenue from customer interactions through e-mail.

"GII has stepped out of the closet and captured the market without a lot of hype. Their e-mail technology is an effective sales, marketing and relationship building tool. It is one of the most exciting products on the market today," says Larry Weber, president, The Weber Group.

GII kicked off their industry analyst road show immediately after the party and traveled throughout New England and New York to brief analysts at Yankee Group, Gartner Group, IDG, Jupiter Communications, Meta Group and Patricia Seybold Group about their approach to the marketplace and the core technology behind EchoMail.

"Echo-Mail provides its customers with a turnkey solution designed to streamline the process of establishing and maintaining productive customer conversations using electronic mail, says Chad Rider, Patricia Seybold Group.

Over the last four years, GII has employed a stealth approach to marketing, public relations and sales. The company has quietly collected a strong customer base and formed strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as IBM, Lotus, GTE, Netcom, Open Market, Sybase and Wipro Info-Tech Group of India. GII's EchoMail clients include; AT&T, Allstate, Gateway, IBM, JCPenney, John Hancock, Lycos, Nike, Reel.Com, Unilever and others.

"We expect to see companies increasingly rely on e-mail as a sales, marketing and customer retention tool. These organizations will increasingly invest in technology which enables them to automatically respond to inbound e-mail and create targeted outbound multi-media e-mail campaigns," says Matthew Cain, vice president, Meta Group.

Forrester Research, Inc., agrees and will be including General Interactive in their August Report. This report will focus on how companies build continuous, intimate, predictable relationships with their on-line customers. Forrester will attempt to define dynamic customer service as the combination of proactive and reactive services that help a business continuously reinforce and maintain a relationship with each customer. General Interactive, is of interest to Forrester and other industry analysts because of their growing client and partnership base and unique approach to electronic customer care, marketing, sales and data-mining through e-mail.
