CAMBRIDGE, MA - May 26, 1998 - General Interactive, Inc. GII will combine its relationship marketing expertise with Millennium's patented XIVA TM technology to become the leading provider of E-Mail solutions for managing both inbound and outbound communications for major brands.

Under the terms of the agreement, Millennium Cybernetics will operate as a scientific research and development laboratory within GII. The Millennium Cybernetics' laboratory will focus on further developing XIVA core technology and the EchoMail TM Suite of Products. EchoMail is the messaging platform that is allowing Fortune 500 companies around the world to listen and respond to their customers via E-Mail.

V.A. Shiva former president and CEO of Millennium Cybernetics has been appointed chairman and president of GII. Bruce Padmore, former vice president of technology for Millennium Cybernetics has been appointed chief technology officer. In his new role, Mr. Padmore will oversee product development, new technology and technology partnerships. Zoe Helene, former creative director of Millennium Cybernetics has been appointed chief creative officer. Ms. Helene will direct thematic concepts and a creative team of over 30 artists, including world class 2D and 3D animators for outbound multi-media E-Mail campaigns.

The acquisition allows both Millennium Cybernetics and GII to combine core technologies and resources to reduce competitive pressures, increase efficiency and reduce cost. The acquisition positions the company as the industry leader in E-Mail technology. "This is an important acquisition for GII. It opens up good growth opportunities that will lead to sustained value growth. It allows us to capture the E-Mail market and help major brands build customer loyalty" says V.A. Shiva, chairman & CEO of General Interactive.

General Interactive's primary markets include customer-focused enterprises such as electronic commerce, high technology, financial services, retail and the entertainment industry. Allstate, AT&T, Compaq, IBM, Nike, Lycos and others who recognize the growing need to respond to their customers, use EchoMail.

"Every company in every industry is looking for better ways to interact with their customers. E-Mail technology is allowing customers to talk back. Several companies we work with receive more than 45,000 E-Mail messages each month. EchoMail listens... and responds. It helps companies learn more about their customers. It is revolutionizing the way people do business," says Shiva.

As executive stress levels accelerate this question becomes more important. Consistent messaging is almost impossible when a business becomes entangled with E-Mail inquiries. Quick responses are given without thought or the E-Mail message is ignored. Every time an email message is ignored, customer loyalty becomes more fragile. Company's lose valuable information for target marketing programs and businesses become less profitable.

"EchoMail has immediate measurable ROI benefits. It responds to your customers, it feeds information to your marketing area and it alleviates the burden of information overload without increasing the number of employees", says Bruce Padmore, chief technology officer.

General Interactive's professional services division is dedicated to creating award-winning interactive designs and thematic concepts. Web-sites, CD-ROM, games and educational programs are standard offerings from this full service production house.
