CAMBRIDGE, MA - May 3, 2001 -
EchoMail, the established provider of E-Mail Relationship Management solutions, today announced the
development of a new division - the E-Mail Research Institute (EMRI). EchoMail plans to utilize EMRI's
world-class staff to research the quality of E-Mail management among Fortune 1000 companies.
EMRI focuses on the relationship between E-Mail communications, public perception, and customer
retention and acquisition. With EMRI, EchoMail plans to offer reports to companies on how to improve
responsiveness to their customer base. EMRI completed its first study, EResponse 1000: How the Fortune
1000 Respond to E-Mail-Based Customer Queries. Initial findings indicate that less than half of the
Fortune 1000 companies surveyed responded to the query, and of those companies that responded to the
EMRI query over half took over eight hours to respond.
"Given the growing number of people online coupled with increased demand for personalized service,
effective and efficient E-Mail processing and response is key to satisfying current customers and investors,
and acquiring new customers," said V.A. Shiva, President and CEO of EchoMail. "With EMRI, we can assess
the Fortune 1000 and provide them with the information they need to improve their service level to their
clientele."
About EMRI
EMRI researches the interactions between E-Mail and perception - specifically among the Fortune 1000.
Current studies include the E-Mail responsiveness of the Fortune 1000 to a standardized customer query
and the availability and quality of newsletters among the Fortune 1000.
