Dr. E-Mail, a.k.a. V.A. Shiva, Founder and CEO of EchoMail, Inc, was present at the eTail 2004 conference in Palm Springs to mingle and talk with many senior executives of the nation's best-known retailers.
During an invitation only reception sponsored by EchoMail, Dr. E-Mail, met with CEOs, Brand Managers and Marketing Communications Directors alike in an informal setting openly discussing his career beginning as the Inventor of the World's first E-Mail system, in the late 70's, that now more than 20 years later has turned the retail industry into a high profile player.
Described by many as being 'passionate' about E-Mail, Dr. E-Mail keenly demonstrated his views of E-Mail as a dialogue tool, and the almost infinite ways E-Mail is used to improve customer service, delivery, supply-chain management, thus allowing companies to channel energy back into the company's core values of on increasing ROI, customer loyalty and brand promotion.
Dr. E-Mail commented, "Just about everyone I spoke with 'gets it'," he said, referring to the audience acknowledging that E-Mail is not just a blast out tool - a supplement or replacement for direct mail - but a tool for building customer relationships. "I have spent the past ten years as an educator as well as the CEO of a multinational company. Now, I can exchange ideas with individuals whose responsibility it is to grow their business through E-Mail and the Internet, and that is very satisfying to me." He continued, "Consumers are holding the companies they do business with to a higher standard; and to grow Corporations must be willing to invest in customer relations and technology, that investment I think will prevail through 2004."
