CAMBRIDGE, MA - April 02, 2001 -
EchoMail, the established provider of E-Mail Relationship Management solutions, recently announced the release of its
latest animation - Japanese Koi kites, created to celebrate Children's Day.
Under the direction of Chief Creative Officer, Zoe Helene, a team of fifteen 2D and 3D animators from EchoMail's
Chennai office in India, works jointly with the directive team in the U.S. to create a variety of original animations
for newsletters, E-Mail campaigns, e-cards, and other interactive media. Since its inception over three years ago, the
team has produced more than 500 pieces of original artwork.
"Our team's ability to coordinate and work effectively 24-hours-a-day between the U.S. and India is one our core
strengths," said Zoe Helene. "It gives me time to talk with our clients here, determine their needs, work with other
team members, and then give the Chennai Team the latest revisions. It is very similar to when I worked in theatre and
production, I spend the day reviewing the work and creating director's notes."
Although the animations start with a vision, it requires much skill, patience, and meticulous work on the part of
both 2D and 3D animators. 2D animator's skills are closer to a traditional drawer or painter. Each frame must be hand
drawn on paper to translated digitally to a "stacked GIF". 3D on the other hand is entirely computer generated. Objects
and characters, and entire landscapes, are created by manipulating a series of mathematical grids which are then given
'bones, textures, lighting, motion directions and then rendered in animation. The final product is used by EchoMail's
clients in multimedia rich applications, such as E-Mail campaigns, to increase brand loyalty and consumer experience on
the web. The recently released Japaneese Koi kite will be used with EchoMail Direct ®, as part of an international
holiday theme.
