Intelligent Life Conference held in Cambridge from January 18-19, 2001 at the MIT University Park Hotel.
The conference, co-sponsored by Dell, was the first in a series scheduled for 2001 provided a wealth of information
about the hottest area in customer service and support: Customer Relationship Management. Conference attendees, many
from the Fortune 500 community participated in workshops and panel discussions to learn how to use E-Mail marketing for
customer growth and retention. Participants were also able to learn about the newer technologies and techniques available
for data mining and warehousing.
Guest speakers included Rosalind Picard, the founder and director of the Affective Computing Research Group at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Laboratory who joined us to discuss her research aimed at improving
human-computer interaction. Dr. Picard shared many new technologies including, new sensing systems such as wearable and
tangible devices for gathering effective feedback from customers.
