CAMBRIDGE, MA - May 05, 2001 -
EchoMail, the established provider of E-Mail Relationship Management solutions, today announced the release of its
latest animations - "Summer Solstice", "Pool Party", "#1 Dad", and "You made it!" for the 2001 graduates.
Under the direction of Chief Creative Officer, Zoe Helene, a team of fifteen 2D and 3D animators from EchoMail's
Chennai office in India, works jointly with the directive team in the U.S. to create a variety of original animations
for newsletters, E-Mail campaigns, e-cards, and other interactive media.
Ms. Helene's extensive background in theatrical design, acting, multi-disciplinary visual art and music serves her
well. Since the team's inception over three years ago, Ms. Helene has conceived and directed over 500 original animations
and e-cards.
"The process of working with animators is a lot like working with actors: they have excellent craftsmanship, yet seek
direction," said Zoe Helene. " I provide them with the specifications of what I envision as a director, and we work
together as a team to evolve concepts into a finished piece."
Creating these animations has taken both detailed mathematical skill as well as an artist's instinct for design.
A 2D animator's skills are closer to a traditional drawer or painter explains Ms. Helene. Each frame must be hand
drawn on paper to translated digitally to a "stacked GIF". 3D on the other hand is entirely computer generated.
Objects and characters, and entire landscapes, are created by manipulating a series of mathematical grids which
are then given 'bones, textures, lighting, motion directions and then rendered in animation. The final product is
used by EchoMail's clients in multimedia rich applications, such as E-Mail campaigns, to increase brand loyalty and
consumer experience on the web. The recently released e-cards will be used with EchoMail Direct ® as part of a
summer greeting theme.
